“The entire Universe is set up to produce wanting within you! You cannot squelch wanting. You are born wanters. Wanting is a good thing. Write that down in big letters: WANTING IS A VERY GOOD THING!”-Abraham-Hicks

I see little children pouting all of the time because they can not get want they want at that moment, and are upset about it. The emotion is clear as a starlit sky that they are unhappy about the not-so instant gratification of their want. However, there is an interesting thing to notice here about the child, and that is this: if their desire is strong enough for whatever it is they want, they’re eventually going to get it. That’s what extended family is for, right?
No really, the point I’m making here is that this quote takes us back to our innate feelings as children that were so obviously expressed. Kids have no problem wanting, nor do they ever feel bad about wanting period. But as we get older, somewhere in there, we’re programmed to believe that we can not have everything we want. We’re told that to want something is being greedy or selfish. We’re taught that to desire anything beyond your basic needs and “wants” is overindulgent and wasteful. So much negativity is attached to “wanting.”
Looking at this quote, however would suggest that to NOT want is going against the very fabric of which we are as human beings. We live in an attraction Universe. If there is nothing causing the attraction to happen, (consciousness expanding through thoughts and emotions, of which desires fall within), then the Universe would be stagnant, which is virtually impossible!
Therefore, it’s no need to go against this natural phenomenon; this stream of well-being that exists. It’s worth tapping into and allowing your desires to flow freely. Let them flow without reservation of who would have an opinion, or whether or not you can “see” a “how”right away. That’s totally left up to the Universe. Observe where your desires originate and who they would benefit. What value would they add to your life and the lives of others?
On another note, to really amplify your signal to the Universe, go beyond the “want” and actually fuel this desire by feeling like you’re already in possession of or inhabiting what you desire. This creates powerful core energy that is causing the Universe to align up your attraction points with the very thing you want. If you desire a mate, set a place for him at the dinner table. If you really want to play onstage at Carnegie Hall, each time you practice, picture yourself in the moment. If you desire to be financially free, tell yourself everyday that you are already and believe it.
Live moment to moment in your desire, without feeling attached, desperate or needy.
Just be present, specific and grateful and the Universe will provide what you want, which is a good thing.
